چکیده
Subgradients. A function f : Q ✓ R ! R defined on a convex domain Q is said to be convex if every point x 2 Q has a non-empty subgradient @f(x) = {g 2 R; f(y) f(x) + g>(y x), 8y 2 Q}. Geometrically, this means that a function is convex iff it is the maximum of all its supporting hyperplanes, i.e. f(x) = max x0,g2@f(x0) f(x0) + g > (x x0). When there is a unique element in @f(x) we call it the gradient and denote it by rf(x). We will sometimes abuse notation and refer to rf(x) as an arbitrary element of @f(x) even when it is not unique. Strong convexity and smoothness. We say that a function f : Q ✓ R ! R is μ-strongly convex with respect to norm k·k if for all x, y 2 Q and all subgradients g 2 @f(x): f(y) f(x) g>(y x) 1

Sharp Upper bounds for Multiplicative Version of Degree Distance and Multiplicative Version of Gutman Index of Some Products of Graphs
In $1994,$ degree distance of a graph was introduced by Dobrynin, Kochetova and Gutman. And Gutman proposed the Gutman index of a graph in $1994.$ In this paper, we introduce the concepts of multiplicative version of degree distance and the multiplicative version of Gutman index of a graph. We find the sharp upper bound for the multiplicative version of degree distance and multiplicative ver...
متن کاملMore inequalities for Laplacian indices by way of majorization
The n-tuple of Laplacian characteristic values of a graph is majorized by the conjugate sequence of its degrees. Using that result we find a collection of general inequalities for a number of Laplacian indices expressed in terms of the conjugate degrees, and then with a maximality argument, we find tight general bounds expressed in terms of the size of the vertex set n and the average degree dG...
متن کاملThe Polynomial Method Strikes Back: Tight Quantum Query Bounds via Dual Polynomials
The approximate degree of a Boolean function f is the least degree of a real polynomial that approximates f pointwise to error at most 1/3. The approximate degree of f is known to be a lower bound on the quantum query complexity of f (Beals et al., FOCS 1998 and J. ACM 2001). We resolve or nearly resolve the approximate degree and quantum query complexities of several basic functions. Specifica...
متن کاملTight bounds and accurate approximations for DQPSK transmission bit error rate - Electronics Letters
Recently proposed bounds for the Marcum Q-function are applied to derive novel tight bounds for the bit error rate for differential quaternary phase shift keying transmission with Gray coding over an additive white Gaussian noise channel. Simple and accurate approximations are then proposed for the BER. The computational complexity of the final approximate expression is significantly lower than...
